New feature: Episodic Retention

Today we're very pleased to follow-up our launch of monthly retention metrics with episodic retention!

Both metrics are crucial in understanding the results of your marketing efforts.

Monthly retention metrics give you an aggregate sense of how your marketing efforts are trending over time.

Episodic retention lets you drill into how your content itself—on a per-episode basis—drives new listener retention.

Here's an example: An episode with a big name guest star may bring in a lot of new listeners, because their audience will drop in to listen to the show. Episodic retention will let you track how many of those new audience members stick around to become regular listeners of your podcast.

Paying attention to episodic retention over time will give you an intuitive sense for what kind of content is really resonating with your audience, and whether your marketing efforts are aligned with your show's long term success.
