“Dan and team—I am grateful for every episode in this podcast, and have learned so much and cannot wait to come to New York for the event. I am an avid fan of the app as well and both of your books, Dan. What I’m having trouble accepting is the lack of you or other highly regarded meditation instructors or leaders in the field, such as Joesph Goldstein or Dr. Mark Epstein who you have on so frequently, ever speaking and condemning the atrocities that are happening in real time under our watch in the Middle East. The loss of life should not be a divisive issue anywhere but most especially in the Buddhist community. Unless I have missed it there has been a complete absence of abhorrence over the atrocities that are taking place. This has nothing to do with religion or whether you’re from the west or the east it has to do with our basic humanity, which I believe is a central tenant of Buddhism. I look forward to the day when I hear an honest conversation about this coming from your leadership Dan. Children are dying every single day. This community isn’t authentic if we aren’t speaking out about it and taking a stand. Buddhism is socially active - it is not passive. Kudos to your colleagues who I know you respect like Glennon Doyle for breaking silence on the issue and being vocal. I hope you will consider it. We need you and the thoughtful leaders of our time to work towards peace. Thank you.”
