Draws you in, hard to stop listening

Great story line. First 3 episodes are great. Then podcast gets slow. What to much unnecessary info. It’s almost like they start reading the police report. At least two episodes could have been dropped and more focus on story line less of your personal opinion. For example I could careless about...Read full review »

This is the second time I’m listening to this story, just because of how great of a story it is. Of course it’s sad and incredible to believe what happened to these people, but just how the story I’d told and brought to the public. I would probably listen to it again. I need more stories like...Read full review »

Megan did such an awesome job on this. I don’t know her, but she’s an incredible journalist! I loved all of the details down to how small DC courtrooms are. Super interesting, informative, and well-done. I was sad for this one to end.

I’m a true crime-aholic so take my review with that in mind. I was on the edge of my seat as if every episode was a personal conversation with the folks presenting this information. Very well done and made me feel like I was in the courtroom and a crime scene investigator! Sad story but great...Read full review »

This story is heartbreaking for every person it touched and it is told so well and respectfully by the reporters....I sobbed at times.
TheVigaro via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/08/20
The story of what happened is really great however, there is no new evidence brought to the table, or even a little doubt on who the killer is. After a few episodes it’s the same thing that has already been said 1000 times already. Not every podcast needs to be hour long episodes for 12 episodes....Read full review »

This story was just absolutely heart wrenching. The narration was fine but the editing, I noticed, in the last few episodes was pretty bad. People didn’t even get to finish their sentence before skipping to a completely different person speaking mid sentence. Some parts repeated themselves.

This was such an amazing podcast! The hosts told this heinous crime in such an professional thoughtful way. From start to finish the attention to detail and their ability to be as authentic and true to the story was impeccable! Highly recommend!!

I’m a big fan of true crime podcasts and I have to put 22 Hours in the same category as Culpable and S-Town.
nomotescams via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/01/20
Stop spending so much time repeating the same details over and over. And also spending so much time on things that don’t matter. I loved the podcast but it could have been cut down by 3 episodes at least.

Although this is a very sad news, it was very well explained and layed out. Nice Podcast explaining all details and walking through all the facts of the case.

What an interesting case and an even better way of telling the story! I could not listen to these episodes fast enough!

I was hooked from episode 1! For being their first time doing a podcast it was done extremely well!!! I’ve listened to the whole thing 3 times.
Winning fool via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/23/20
This podcast is good except in episode 7 whoever is narrating the podcast as the lawyer, has the most annoying voice I have ever heard. I literally am now skipping over her portion. That’s why I rated 2 stars and not 5.
2019Courtney via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 01/23/20
Started out strong but then got super dull. In episode 5 they spent a good 3 minutes talking about how small federal courtrooms are. Like who cares? He’s clearly guilty, despite the unanswered questions.

I am a true crime junkie, I have to say I was hooked from episode 1. I honestly could not stop listening. You all did a great job telling the story. There were moment when I shed tears. Thank you for putting this podcast out. Hope you all more.

I am not sure if this was covered but is it possible Darin was studying the victim’s house and planning while out every day ‘looking for work’? Oh well, great work!

This podcast will leave you feeling sick. You won’t be able to stop listening because it is well done, but you will be emotionally exhausted by the end. You will wonder why you just spent so many hours of your life listening to such a horrific story. That is what happened to me anyway.
Atlsna via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/20/20
Great delivery of a heartbreaking yet intriguing crime.
Kbbishop via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/19/20
Every episode spends the first 45 mins just repeating what was said in the last episode. Annoying.

The story is obviously absolutely horrible. I didn’t know much about it at all and learned a lot from this podcast, but they way they tell it is rough. First, she is obviously trying to be Sarah Koenig. The phrasing, the fake audio of dialing phone numbers and reports of going to see locations...Read full review »

Great podcast! Well written and produced. It gave a thorough review of this horrible tragedy.

What a well written and produced story. The team really does a great job telling this story and making sure you get to know the individuals involved. This is the podcast of the year.

Oh my gosh. I just want to hear what happened but this podcast is SO repetitive and the read through of the testimony is TERRIBLE. The prosecutor may not be as snarky as the narrator is making her out to be but she may be. And if that’s the case I would be completely turned off by her if I were a...Read full review »

Great investigative journalism and true crime podcast. Just as good as Serial and In The Dark.

I was into this podcast until about halfway through when they had people reading what was said in court. It was hard to listen to; equivalent to watching poor acting. The voices annoyed me. The story is interesting but the use of colleagues to read testimony was awful. The person reading for the lawyer is awful, over the top, painful to hear.

This is a great podcast for anyone who enjoys an excellent dissection of a case. I enjoy listening to Parcast and Crime Junkie for my weekly fix, but this was a fantastic case that I could really dive into. If you like this, I suggest listening to Cold and Root of Evil. This will stick with me for a long time. Was gripping to listen to, but devastating at the same time. Shed tears at several points just imagining this family’s pain.
RachaelE22 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/06/20
Tragic, well-researched story with an interesting narrative. I have to agree with some of the more negative reviews citing redundancy. The newscast-style delivery is not really my cup of tea. But clearly the host is very knowledgeable about the case. My sister absolutely loved this podcast!...Read full review »

I’ve listened to a lot of crime podcasts and this one is by far one of the best I’ve come across. The journalists are so respectful in their reporting while also including every detail and explaining every question a listener might have. The story itself is so very sad. This story is well done but so sad.
Fractious1 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/03/20
Such a sad story for this family but the podcast is not well done. These are clearly newscasters and not podcasters. Each episode is filled with unnecessary and repetitive information. The whole thing could have been much shorter.

The research on this case is excellent and grippingly told. Horrifying that is is true crime, but I couldn’t stop listening bc it was that well done

This podcast is very detailed, tragic, and aggravating in the sense that you get the answers but you don’t at the same time. The last few episodes are the best so stick around.

I found it interesting but very scattered. Sound effects such as keyboard typing sounds during email readings was well amateur and annoying. Too many adds along with very fast narration. These podcast episodes are hours each and could be boiled down into one long hour episode. They repeat details multiple times and say things that are so obvious it’s a waste of time exclaiming.
