Well written and researched. I enjoyed listening to this and was glad that they caught the guy.

I enjoyed listening to season one but for whatever reason season 2 had ads like every 2 min. It stops mid sentence for an ad. It was so jarring I thought it was a big but it seems like it’s a common issue. I couldn’t listen anymore.

The first season was fantastic and I would give that 5 stars. Great narration and editing. Highly recommend listening to this season only, the other seasons are awful and I would give 1 star to those. Waste of time!!! Narration is so awful, repeating data over and over. Feels like the other...Read full review »

Podcast dragged on way too long. Story could’ve been told in 3 less episodes.

I listen and watch a lot of true crime content. This is an amazing example of a top tier investigative journalist. The context provided when referring to the investigations and the science available during each step of the investigation is in depth and allows you to really connect to the story....Read full review »

I don’t know what’s going on, but I got five Ads in the first ten minutes of listening. Season 1 was good but now that this is happening in season 2, I might need to call it quits.

WTOP American Nightmare Series has been such a great informative easy to listen to podcast. Having newly moved to the DMV area I found it interesting that all of this heartbreak & terror happened in a place I now call home. The narrator Paul did such a great job of laying out the facts &...Read full review »

Good info mixed in with constant repetition and filled out with long stretches of completely irrelevant details. Stopped midway in episode 4, unsubscribed and will seek out something else on this case. Agree with every critical review. Including the audio and/or narrator’s enunciation is...Read full review »

There are so very great podcasts. But I come back this one and am waiting for Season 4. If you haven’t listened to Season 1-3, it’s a must and then let’s ask for Season 4!!! Please!

This is a true journalist at work, not a giggling crime junkie. Very professional and credible.

I’ve only heard season three, and it was so well-done that I definitely will go straight to seasons one and two and listen to those as well. This podcast synthesized a lot of complex information and was presented so professionally. I love the the host’s voice and delivery. He is easy to listen...Read full review »

Season 1 is amazing and I loved listening to Megan and Jack go over al the facts; it almost felt like I was listening to a fictional show with all the details unraveling slowly and cliffhangers. Season 2 and 3 are okay, but not as good as they are narrated by a different person.

Megan and Jack do an amazing job of breaking down the investigation and tell the story of what happened in that mansion in a way that I haven’t heard before. I hope they will do it again because it was truly exceptional and very interesting. Listening to the investigation, and how it all came...Read full review »

Thank you for all of your research and for putting your heart into this. You did an excellent job of giving voice to victims (season 3 is what’s fresh on my mind) and also giving grace to the family of the accused. I began checking the locks on windows and doors after listening to this podcast. This rapist was prolific over a long period of time, operated for years before anyone knew he was out there, and so little is known about him. Please write the book!

Being a West Coast native but having lived several years in Wash DC in the mid-1970s, the murder of the family of the 22 Hours had riveted my attention in 2015, but I never learned of the podcast. Show is good journalism but why are all your killers or suspects Black men? I understand that Washington DC was a slave state and there is a large Black population there but I promise there’s some white murderers there

I’ve really enjoyed these podcasts. I live in the area, so this podcast is all the more relevant. 22 Hours was truly horrifying, and the detailed series really showed how truly tragic this event was. In the latest season, it is fascinating how new DNA process finally identified the suspect.

Very interesting and compelling stories. Jack (season 3) and Meghan (season 1) were very good narrators. But, the commenter Jack Moore In season 1 was vapid and annoying and his commentary ruined the narration. Suggestion - edit season 1 and remove his commentary

I really enjoyed season one of the show. Helen however season two seems to be in a sophomore slump. Season 2 on the murder of a nursing manager…. There was no resolution or solving of the murder. There’s a million of these stories out there. I listen to hear how the case was solved who was responsible, and why. Very disappointed.
