I think the episode length especially at the beginning were a bit too short, but I understand this is a one person production. And for that, the quality was still great! The works built and the kind of vagueness about it all was interesting and kept me hooked. I think some parts about the Network...Read full review »

Very short episodes that are made shorter by 1 min of repeating intro that could be over in 10 seconds and a minute of credit to himself at the end! During the short episodes the narrator frustratingly never gets to the point and the end of the season feels like there were chunks removed and...Read full review »

Really wanted to give this a go , but when listening to an 8 min podcast you really want to be able to just listen through. Unfortunately the intros and outros cut into this time and it’s very boring to listen to them on rotation!

A neat example of a completed Audio Drama with limited scope. The story justifies the format (log entries) and mostly single voice acting (character is in a solo training period) as consistent parts of the world building without getting caught in its own trap. Plenty of mystery and suspense to...Read full review »

2298 takes place in a not-so-distant future. A single narrator show that maintains the mystery of a dystopian world but also vividly critique aspects of the present. It's a deeply captivating sci-fi. The music is also brilliant. Listen and get lost in this world.Read full review »

A complete waste

Rendered in short but potent prose 2298 manages to be both, an unraveling puzzle of our possible future, and a searing observation of our social media obsessed present. Use your free time event to listen to 2298 or risk being deleted forever...

It’s frustrating to have to skip through so much self promotions for the amount of time the story is. The choppiness makes it very hard to follow. Also the amount of repetition in the intro and outro is literally painful, as someone with auditory sensory issues. Please make a super cut, it would...Read full review »

This story started with me being puzzled and trying to understand what was going on. The more I listened the more answers I thought of and yet even after binge listening this whole story my mind still thinks there is more to be figured out. Captivating! I am sure to listen to more stories of this...Read full review »

I felt the ground shift beneath me when I got near the end of this hypnotic and poetic standalone audio fiction. Micro/mini fiction for the win!!!

A Standalone story about a dystopian future. Answers the right questions and leave the right questions unanswered.

AR Olivieris work consistently impresses in every story he creates. His performances are urgent and earnest. His world building is phenomenal. Listen to this show and then every other one he is a part of!

I really didn’t know what to expect from this but 2 hrs and an entire season later I was in love. Part dystopia, part mystery part journey of discovery, 2298 is a phenomenal story and the short episodes make this the perfect companion for anybody with not a great deal of time to listen to...Read full review »

A.R. Olivieri has a unique voice in writing and performing this dark future of social media immersion. The blend of deep science fiction and glimmers of natural beauty make for a dark short story that’s serialized perfectly for easy consumption. Go give this show a listen.

AR does a good job developing the story and is good as a story teller. The one big complaint is how the shows flow. It seems he trying to keep all shows under 10 minutes even when the journal logs should be together. Cutting multiple days and logs into 3-5 shows makes it less interesting and...Read full review »

A bit slow beginning for me, though glad I kept going as it definitely picks up both pace and tackling some major socio political themes.

I really enjoyed this podcast. Unique premise. Couldn't wait to reach the end of the story - it was so mysterious! Recommend you download the entire two-hour chunk. The short 8 minute length of each episode was kind of choppy - I just found them too short. But it might suit others. My...Read full review »

Futuristic while at the same time personal. Totally binge-able. It had a good ending, can’t help wishing for more.

Fantastic sound design and acting. A very interesting premise (very relevant) but I found that cheeky ending to be contempuous and fly in the face of all the ground work done before. It felt like it came out of nowhere and forced a cameo to ride on the popularity of another show.
CR1208 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/27/18
Very interesting and quite a different approach to podcast serial story telling. However, I think this is just the wrong venue for such a complex story and the message(s) the writer is expressing and the holes left for the listener to fill in to get to that message is just too avant-garde. A few...Read full review »

The future is bright in the NETWORK. The world is programmed and regimented, clean and organized. But is it though? This show is a puzzle box, a dense and careful creation that asks as many questions as it answers.

I have binged 2298 twice now and every time I do I eek a little bit more out of it. Absolutely love this podcast. There are so many layers to the story and how number 24 manages to squeeze in so much drama, story, suspense and intrigue into short 8 minute episodes is amazing.

Amaizing, intelegent and thrilling. Anyone can write about a dictatorship, but not everyone can write about as a truly devoted follower. You’re going to need to take notes. There’s a bunch of hints and a code and stuff. Beyond the secrets there’s an amazing story and intrigue. It’s awesome overall. Update: after finishing the finale I’m filling this one as one of my favorites and will be re-listening soon.

I’m really rooting for this guy already. I hope he pulls one over on The Network! I’m generally after longer episodes but binging this one is repeat fun. ....[later] man it’s getting weirder Fished 20 episodes. I would have made fewer episodes so that they were at least twice as long

This concept A.R. made is possibly one of the best ideas for an audio drama I have ever heard. What's the best about this podcast is that there could be a discussion about current events and society that connects right back to the plot. 2298 is a collection of recordings from an audio diary made by somebody that keeps seeing a strange bird in his dreams. The mystery part of it is very well done. It’s also sometimes very scary. I love the theme song.

Dystopian at its core, presents The Network to you, leading you into questioning a freedomless society through the eyes of one of its members.
