Finally!!! This is the Podcast you are looking for!
I love all football (College and Pro - Hook Em Horns) but have found it very difficult to get any substantial 49ers related news here on the east coast. So when a friend referred me to John's podcast I was eager to begin listening and he did not disappoint. The depth of the knowledge, insight, and information John shares is outstanding and I always check for a new episode prior to starting my commute to and from the office. The energy and excitement John brings to the podcast is infectious and I am always disappointed when the episode is over and can't wait for the next one. My Story: Growing up in Dallas in the 80's I was surrounded by a family of avid football fans, all of whom were/are Cowboy fans. I was developing an interest in the game but wasn't overly enamored with the Cowboys...perhaps that was because in the late 80's when I was old enough to understand the game the Cowboys were not very good. Which brings us to Monday, December 11, 1989, I was 8 years old and watching the Monday night game with at my grandparents house. The 49ers were playing the LA Rams and the game did not start off well for the 49ers. They entered the 2nd quarter down 17-0 and by the 4th quarter were down 27-10. I remember asking my grandfather if we could watch something else as the game was clearly over and the Rams were going to win. He laughed and said, nothing is over the 49ers have Joe Montana. He turned out to be right as the 49ers came back to win 30-27 with Joe Montana going 30 for 42 and passing for 458 yards. I was in complete and utter awe of Joe Montana and the way he played the game so smoothly and there seemed to be an aura about him. From that moment my fandom was linked directly to Joe Montana and every week I wanted to watch the game he was playing in. That quickly developed into an unbridled love of the 49ers. I never miss a game, thanks to the ticket, and am proud to be raising 2 daughters to be part of the Faithful.Read full review »
