Perfect Podcast for Generalists versus Specialists
I listened to Steph Gillies speak about the important skillset generalists bring to the work environment. There is room for both specialists and generalists on every team and every (leadership) team should have representation from both. There were great nuggets including the need to tailor your resume to fit the job posting; your college/university specialization doesn’t mean you are stuck in that area for your entire career; and how the value generalists bring includes the ability to wear multiple hats, change and/or overlap lanes and bring different perspectives to opportunities to improve efficiencies and the bottom line to organizations. Well done!
