“I grew up on a farm in Wyoming and am a descendant of a long line of farmers, ranchers, and blacksmiths - definitely men and women with more that a passing familiarity with callouses.
A year ago my wife and I bought a 5-acre “farm” just outside Wallowa Oregon after a 40-year detour through a professional life that had few physical callouses. In doing so I’ve returned to my roots in a place where cattle outnumber people, where trucks outnumber cars, and where people reflexively waive or nod as they drive by. Waking up to a view of the Wallowa mountains from my bedroom window is the proverbial icing on the cake.
The Six Ranch podcast perfectly reflects the beauties and challenges of life in one of the most stunning parts of God’s creations and how the lessens learned there are applicable to life well outside the ranch and the mountains. Talking for the better part of an hour without a script is far from easy. To do so in a compelling and engaging manner is an order of magnitude harder. Todd manages to do both, and to do them well.
Here’s to many more wonderful episodes and plenty of calloused hands!”
