Good, but too sensitive.
A great podcast with very good information about the history of the genre. My criticism is with the hosts incessant need to be the most sensitive and labouriously politically correct podcast host known to man. He doesn’t just gloss over or completely avoid topics like Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry’s treatment of women, worse, he tells you that there is information important to the story, that most listeners would like to know, but refuses to tell the stories out of pure fear of an audience member possibly being offended by his recounting of historical events. Furthermore, if you were to skip all of the episodes where he starts the show with “if this might offend you, skip this episode” you’d only catch about a third of the show. I will continue to listen, but doing away with the stepping on eggshells every time a taboo or controversial issues arises would easily take this to a 5 star show for me personally.

This is far and away the best music podcast (if not the best overall podcast) out there. It’s insightful, fun, and always interesting.

Extensively researched, each episode thoroughly explores each song. No snowflake, as another listener alleges, the presenter manages to capture the spirit of the times, while also providing a 21st century perspective for younger listeners. This deserves a place in the British Library.
