Capturing the very real surreality of forgotten America
Blake’s decision to venture out into long forgotten abandoned structures during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic is a poetic and fitting adventure during such an isolating time in the world. He captures the beauty and nostalgia of these now hollowed-out edifices which were once teeming with life. The podcast illustrates the loneliness of the time along with this amazing sense of connection to the spirit of the folks who created amazing memories and had incredible, life-changing adventures in places like the Nevele. And make sure to check out Blake’s stunning photographs! He sells himself short by calling the pictures “amateur photography.” They are works of art in their own right and an amazing companion to the podcast and blog!

What an incredible ride! I’m glad I took his advice and listened with headphones on because this podcast is a full sensory experience. He does such a great job describing the scene that I could see it perfectly in my mind. An ode to spaces forgotten by time!

This pod feels like a guided meditation that seamlessly makes jumps in time and topic. Oh and the production and sound...Read full review »
