Adolf Loos “Ornament and Crime “
Hello ! I found your episode on Loos’s Ornament and crime very useful , interesting, and necessary. Why useful and necessary ? Well, at least for me, I read the original short essay a couple of times but didn’t really understand what the great man was on about ! I needed explanatory notes, and your episode provided them. Loos’s reasoning about why ornament is a crime is explained better, I believe, in his other essay entitled “Architecture “. I look forward to listening to more episodes on modernist architecture : one on Italian Rationalism perhaps ? Again, thanks for helping me make sense of “Ornament and Crime “.
