I was intrigued by the statement of how you are raised may not be where you are as an adult but rather it shaped your conscience. This was my case in how I was raised, my departure from that and my return to my own conclusions with research all guided by my mothers insistence on church. I will check out the books you mentioned and ask that you look at the book and/or movie by Lee Strobel “The Case for Christ”. I agree you should live by what you claim to believe in which is more challenging than you might think given the implications surrounding potential disagreements and loss of relationships however, when you consider the eternal ramifications the cost is minimal! I love what I read today in one of my daily readings, made by Marvel creator Stan Lee who always said Excelsior! The meaning is higher, more elevated and upward.
