23: with Kashayar Farhadi Langroudi
Listen now
Description
Kashayar Farhadi Langroudi is the former chair of the ACBS diversity, equity, and inclusion committee. His work has focused on understanding and disassembling processes that lead to issues of diversity, equity and inclusion including homophobia, racism, and even partisan perspectives with the queer community. Kashayar discusses his own experience of marginalization and how he overcame adversity. Our conversation takes an interesting and personally profound turn as we discuss how the theoretical lenses and perspectives of diversity, equity, and inclusion can themselves be used as a means to oppress and other people who are viewed as having privilege, rather than forging a new psychologically flexible path to accepting all. The ACT in Context Podcast is co-hosted by Timothy Gordon & Joanne Steinwachs.   Curious to learn more about ACT?
