First time a podcast led me to an actual community
Eric’s gift to humanity is in his willingness to be vulnerable and in doing so, giving others permission to do the same. He does not sit high and mighty in the expert chair, even while being a licensed clinical social worker. His transparency on the podcast is what brought me into his coaching and accountability group. It’s the first time in my LIFE where the issues I’ve struggled with so incessantly, are brought to the forefront as worthwhile topics of discussion. It’s the first time where time management, goal setting, time blindness, accountability, and a general sense of being seen not as someone with a “deficit”but rather, with a differently structured brain that needs effective support structures, has fully come to light. I’ve been in a process of de-shaming, and of accepting and honoring my weirdness and deep sensitivity. The podcast brought me to meeting Eric, and I have to say: this guy walks the walk and talks the (sometimes tangential) talk. Edit to original post: Unfortunately, if you decide to join his coaching group be forewarned that he does play favorites. Maybe you’ll catch him in a transitional time in his life and you’ll gain extra favor in his eyes. While I gained a lot initially from the program, eventually it put a bad taste in my mouth and he never sought to ask me why. Even after I’d clearly revealed plenty of my personal discomforts. He never reached out after I shared my misgivings. Very disappointing. A lot of time, effort, money and heart put into something that initially made me feel not alone, and later made me feel very very alone. Fortunately I have a couple friends from the program who also are no longer drinking the Kool aid. But apparently constructive feedback/criticism goes unnoticed or unattended to or both. Maybe it’s the hosts own rejection dysphoria. Who knows.

Thank you for this show Eric. Your college experience is similar to mine. I have not gone back to my study my masters because I fear that I might struggle again. It helps me realize that I can still do it. It's super cool and I just recommended it on my FB :)Read full review »
