In more entrepreneurial roles, he has spent time in the Aerospace/Automotive supply chain with Gardener Aerospace before landing at Babcock International. Here he is best known for establishing a marine design business which grew from 120 people to 1200 people in 6 years. It became the largest business in its field in Europe. More recently Mike joined ASCO, the specialist logistics and materials management business. He was appointed CEO following its acquisition by the private equity firm Endless.
