“I used to love this pod, found it insightful and helpful for creatives at any level in their career. I think the host is trying too hard to be like his hero Howard Stern. There is a nuance to Howard, honed over years on real prime time radio. He’s a genius. Everyone thinks they are like him when they riff but almost no one is and definitely not this show. Mark has no nuance, he comes off like a whiny complainer. Random attacks at celebs cashing in on the pod explosion and complaining that he didn’t understand the appeal of an easy pay platform like Patreon. Nothing sadder than looking at everyone else doing better and blaming them for you not being where you want. You are exactly where you want to be in life, nothing more nothing less. Celebrities joining these platforms, especially those who are really adept at interviews (like Dax) is actually good for less know podcasts as it brings more people to the platform and possibly to your pod. Mark’s voice used to be unique and his own, thoughtful and thought provoking but now he seems desperate for attention and relevance.”
