“Possibly because of my age, I grit my teeth a bit that the podcasters don’t know expressions like hundreds and thousands and that their speech has so many “hip California” mannerisms. Venom spent, I have enjoyed these podcasts immensely, especially for the adaptation histories and asides like the one Kemper presented on the Harlequinade. I had a number of nits to pick with the Branagh Murder on the Orient Express but mine overlapped with theirs in very few places—notably the Katherine love interest when we already have a perfectly good Virginie in Poirot’s youth and a naughty Vera in his later years. I was a bit surprised that their podcast on The Labors if Hercules did not include the suggestion that each labor could have been adapted as its own story rather than completely reshaped into the hodgepodge which aired. Even if her estate approved it, I suspect Dame Agatha would not have been pleased.”
