Although now in their twilight years, they realise that their 25-year-old pet-human 'God' might be best being rehomed as they search for a quieter life. It's a tough decision for them to make but once 'God' overhears their plan to rehome him he takes matters into his own hands and makes a run for it. Alone and confused 'God' finds himself in a dark underworld when a dirty old dog enters him into the criminal underworld of human racing.
