“Medros was recently out sick, and it really struck me how much higher the quality of the show was without him. I mean no disrespect to the man personally; I don't wish any ill on him. However, his personality may be better suited to that of a silent producer. Shade did an admirable job hosting the show solo. She seems to giggle less incessantly when left to her own devices. (I adore Shade's laugh; it's infectious. However, her giggling borders on shrill occasionally. Especially when whatever invoked the laughter isn't particularly funny. This has led me to think that Shade laughs "on cue" most of the time.)
Medros has a habit of bringing the overall "vibe" of the show down. His attempts at humor cross the sexism/homophobia line, and he very rarely has anything positive to say.
This is one of only a few times I've felt compelled to leave a review for any of the close to a dozen WoW podcasts I've listened to over the years. I'm writing this as a genuine fan of the show who hopes to see the quality improve.
ETA: I feel that the current rating of 3.5 stars is appropriate for the current quality of the show. The audio is more than passable, and the content is genuinely good. The quality of the banter and hosting is all that keeps it from being "slightly above average".”Read full review »
