“After 23 years in an Evangelical, homeschool, ultra-conservative world, I finally got the courage to leave the toxicity and find safety. Deconstructing is hard. Before I found this podcast, I was ready to throw away the Bible along the with hateful, abusive messages I had been told it contained. Nate and Tim are doing an amazing job of parsing out what the Bible *actually* says and have restored some of my faith that God and Bible might not be all about hating people. I believe every Christian has the obligation to do what Nate and Tim do: research the historical context, the original language, and the Biblical authors to understand what the Bible is really saying. Almost no pastors are doing this, and it's literally their job. This podcast is encouraging and insightful, especially to an ex-Christian who has had the Bible used against her for her whole life. 10/10 recommended if you think you know what's in the Bible.”Read full review »
