Best Metallica podcast
Tom is in a class by himself. His preparation is second to none. I love the variety of guests from around the world. If you’re a huge fan or even casual fan, you will get a lot out of these episodes. Sometimes the best ones are the reviews of average or well below average Metallica tunes! I was fortunate to make an appearance on the show. Jump in the fire & pick one to listen to today. You’ll be hooked.
New favorite, amazing host
Tom has a great enthusiasm for Metallica, all fans should listen.
Gateway to music podcasts
The idea of talking about music without listening to it may be preposterous to some, but when done right it could get contagious. Thanks to host Tom Kwei's intelligence, vocabulary, encyclopedic knowledge, deep research, and sheer unstoppable energy, listening to this particular podcast is addictive! I had all but given up on Metallica as a passing teenage fad but my interest was revived thanks to this podcast. One of the reasons is that it is not just a doe-eyed adoration, it can be acerbically critical as well. What hooked me was the episode on "Murder One" which described the song as "someone is trying to play the Immigrant Song riff slowly but not quite getting it". Definitely worth your while even if you are not a hardcore Metallica fan.
