Ben Rhodes 3 reasons for where we are
Whilst it was good to listen to Ben’s reasons on why we are here I think the two reasons below in my view are the key. Normalization of institutional lies from the invasion of Iraq by the USA and UK. 98% of the UK electorate was against this move. This breaking of fundamental trust has created deep rooted cynicism across democracies that allow players like Trump to speak clear, simple sound bites that connect, and, allows him to blame all the problems on this blatant deceit. Micro manipulation of the disaffected via social media content and bots. People feel their most comfortable when they are liked, noticed, or have their views confirmed on Social Media. Politics has become an unwelcome noise and distraction because the most emotionally relevant, and manipulated, conversation is happening online.
