Illuminating and intriguing!
As a lifelong admirer of Romanticism and Romantic literature, preparing to enter a Romanticism PhD program next fall, I wanted to prepare myself for my studies by reading and listening to works that explored the complexity and nuances of the movement. This iTunes U series does just that, in a series of eloquent and illuminating lectures that span the cultural breadth and philosophical depth of Romantic movements across Europe, describing key founders and seminal works as well as key political and cultural events that helped to bring the Romantic movement to fruition in its various manifestations. I found this series extremely helpful, intriguing both for the longtime Romantic devotee and the emergent discoverer of Romantic works.
