Amazing lectures - an absolute must for every one
This unique series of lectures are more than an academic history course, they are like a journey in which the talent and knowledge of Prof. Kagan takes you to explore the depth of human nature. The lectures are accessible to anyone as the language and format remains simple and direct. The bulk of the course is on the war of Peloponnesus which Prof. Kagan critically approach through the words of Thucydides to reveal strategic decision problems reportedly encountered in human history. The Introduction lecture stands has one of the most beautiful descriptions of the achievements and dangers of western civilization which the Greeks initiated.

This is great information by someone who is obviously an outstanding scholar in his field. I think it is appropriate that he points out how modern thought is shaped by Greek history. These lectures are well-delivered, lively, entertaining, and informative. This is exactly what you want a college history course to be! The audio quality is more than good enough through about 99% of the class, with only a few inaudible words or distracting background noises.
