Terrific, informative & entertaining
This review is long overdue. This is such a great podcast series. Andrew is a natural at interviewing his subjects - absolutely one of the best interviewers that I have listened to. He elicits a great wealth of information from them in a very straightforward yet relaxed tone. In his thoughtful, complex interviews, Andrew is a master of connecting the dots and picking up on subtle patterns and similarities among chefs as a group and what drives them all individually. He is truly knowledgeable in all things related to the food/hospitality industry, and his encyclopedic knowledge of current and past restaurants and chefs, particularly in the NYC food scene, is very impressive. This is a great podcast for professional chefs/foodies and amateurs cooks alike. Andrew takes great care to translate into layman’s terms any colloquial kitchen phrases or practices that may be unknown to the listener. I’ve been fortunate enough to meet and briefly chat with Andrew on a couple of occasions this past year. He is as genuine, personable and kind in person as he sounds on the air. And his book “Chefs, Drugs and Rock & Roll” is a MUST READ!

I started listening to this podcast after seeing Andrew as a judge on Beat Bobby Flay. I love that most Chefs interviewed are in NY. It's interesting to hear the different roads Chefs have traveled to get to where they are. Inspirational!Read full review »
