Apple for the Teacher Ana Thomas
-
- True Crime
-
True crime stories in the school system – told by a teacher from Australia. For people looking for something different in the true crime genre, other than Ted Bundy or the Zodiac Killer. Diverse and lesser-known stories – an albino student murder in Africa, schoolgirl sexual slavery in Libya, a teacher beheaded in France, Polish teachers executed by the Nazis, just to name a few. School-based tragedies are also featured - a school bus stranded in a snowstorm, a school wiped out by a landslide, the drowning of students in a sinking ship. So join host Ana Thomas, as she presents the bad apples.

EP 234 - Oxford School Shooting - Parents on Trial
On November 30th, 2021, just over two years ago, a 15-year-old boy entered his high school with a gun, and went on a shooting spree which killed 4 students and injured many others. He was apprehended at the scene and his trial was recently completed. He was tried as an adult and received life in prison without parole.
But this case is far from over, as his parents were also arrested and charged with 4 counts of involuntary manslaughter for each of the students killed. They went on to have separate trials and those trials have now been completed. I watched both trials which were broadcast on YouTube, and so this episode will present the details of the trials from hours and hours of courtroom footage.

Captivating
Anna does a great job with this podcast! I never cared for true crime podcasts until this one! Anna keeps you engaged the whole time. Every story is likely one you never heard . Great job with this Anna keep up the good work .
P. S I found you by accident. I said hey siri play Apple and in a matter of seconds forgot to say “play Apple Music” and boom Apple for the teacher comes on and the rest is history . So good thing here that my phone was a bad apple. I think we can excuse this bad apple :)
Great show!
Excellent podcast and super well made!
Your homework is to listen to this
I have listened to all but the most recent. Ana’s ability to share stories is full of compassion and well-done. Her decision to not name the offenders unless absolutely necessary adds to the purpose of honoring the victims and their families. Every once in a while her episode will bring me to tears. But that’s ok because it means she has found a way for the memories of of the lives to live on. Her recent episode where she visited the actual site of where a young girl was abducted and Ana’s description of it was so poignant.
