Neither this piece nor the piece called “Grey Magic” were ever produced due to the choreographer’s opinion that the music was “too difficult to listen to.” I guess it just is a matter of personal taste.

A short modern dance piece. It was used several years ago as a part of a compilation. No real Craft significance, but I’m putting it up anyway, just coz I can!

I was commissioned to compose this piece to be included in a modern dance piece with a Yoruba theme. On it’s own I have used it for magical dance, and for raising energy in “body magic.”

A very effective chant for raising energy around the sacred Sabbat bonfire: Circle ‘round the fire; To raise the Cone of Power; To bring our heart’s desire; Oh so mote it be; Weave the magic by the firelight; Dance the circle all night long; Weave the magic by the firelight; Dance and sing the Witches’ song.

This chant has been around for as long as I have been in the Craft. I first heard it on a Gwydion Pendderwen's album, “Songs for the Old Religion,” which I believe has been reissued. Visit www.serpentinemusic.com and search for it by name; the album is a true Craft Classic! Horned One, Lover, Son; Leaper in the Corn; Deep in the Mother; Die and be reborn!

Traditionally, we use this chant during the burning of the Wicker Man at Lammas, but it can be used during any fire ceremony: With the lighting of the pyre the flame of life grows ever higher; Ignite in us our heart’s desire; Lord and Lady of the Fire.

We often use this chant to dance around the bonfire at the Sabbats. We simply change the words “full moon night” to “Lammas Night,” “Beltain Night,” etc.: Into the full moon night we dance; spirits dance, we dance; Joining hands we dance; Joining souls rejoice.

We use this chant during the Spiral Dance prior to starting a major sabbat: Merry Meet Good Friends’ Until We Part Again; Merry Meet.

A dance of fertility and protection. (This is another excerpt from a ballet with a pagan theme that I was working on for several months. The project has since been shelved, but I use the music as background for many projects).
