Mostly super good
I really enjoy this podcast, and am a fan of Dax's work in general. I usually don't listen to podcasts this long but feel like the length allows for a depth and complexity in conversations that our culture needs more of in general. Would love to hear more from Monica. I really loved the episodes with Liz Plank, Kristen Bell, Emilia Clarke, Adam Scott, Ellen, etc. Though had to admit, the moment at the very end of the Ellen episode felt very inappropriate and deeply uncomfortable for me as a female listener, when Dax (as a married man) was pressing on about kissing Ellen "longer" than their usual friendly kisses, when she's a married lesbian AND after she told him that wasn't going to happen. I get it, we're all human sometimes we say jokey stuff in the moment that we don't really mean if we had the time to stop and consider if that's really the message we wanted to send...but as a podcast producer you do have the chance to think about if you want to show that to your audience, and take the time to cut it out, and (I really hope you did already) also apologize to Ellen for making her uncomfortable. And as a man, you have a responsibility to notice when something feels like a joke to you but might feel like unwanted sexual pressure to a woman. As I said, I mostly love the podcast, but that moment made me uncomfortable enough as a listener to consider if it was something I wanted to support, and to go to my computer to hunt down a spot to leave this review. Something for the creators to consider.Read full review »

To be real, I first heard Dax speaking on Anna Faris's Unqualified. It was my very first episode there and I found the conversation and candor so intriguing. When I found out Dax had started his own podcast, of course I'll give it a go! It's been so interesting and authentic so far...Read full review »
