“The first season was definitely the better one. However, it didn’t seem like much effort was made to write period dialog. Other than the main character’s vulgarity, the dialog didn’t sound particularly 1940s. The writing seemed to get sloppier as the series progressed. There are so many side plots that the whole thing gets convoluted.”
