“I find Natalie’s episode on finding a fertility doctor to be off-putting. I am a fertility PA and have been for the past 4.5 years. My on the job training was for several years following board certified MDs and learning the ins and outs of fertility. APP’s can function in an REI practice and run fertility treatments including IVF cycles and doing their own frozen embryo transfers with similar, if not better success rates than some REIs. With less REIs coming out of fellowship and the increases in fertility practices opening across the US, utilizing APP’s can improve access to care and decrease multiple month wait times for a new patient appointment.”
