Have you ever faced a situation that you are just praying for it to not happen? Maybe it’s bankruptcy, a divorce, or a child who is a prodigal, but whatever it is, you are begging God to take it from you so you don’t have to face it. Jesus shows us, in the Garden of Gethsemane, that deliverance does not always mean FROM a situation, but sometimes it means God delivers THROUGH a situation. Jesus knows what it’s like to face a situation and ask God to let it pass from you. But because Jesus faced what he had to face, and God did not let the cup pass from him, we, the entire human race, can experience hope, peace, love, and deliverance through whatever it is that is our Gethsemane season.
