I used to listen to the vinyl café while I was falling asleep almost every night until I was 11, and I still do sometimes. It was such a big part of my childhood, my family has all the CDs, we got to see the show live a few times, my older sibling even met Stuart once when they were three. Thanks...Read full review »

Thank you Jess for keeping Stuart alive in all of us. Shame on whoever the genius was that did a one star and thumbs down. I hope your dog vomits beside your bed while you sleep.

If you fast forward through the annoying lady going on on and just get to the story. This podcast is ok.

I love to hear Stuart’s voice - too much time spent on lead up to the recordings.

I just love listening to all of Stuart’s Vinyl Cafe stories. But I must admit I really enjoy Jess’s intros, with the ‘back story’ behind each one. Personally, I would prefer if you did one Vinyl Cafe story each podcast, which would of course include your background comments before and after...Read full review »

Thank you so much for making the beloved Vinyl Cafe stories available again. Stewart’s voice is such a familiar comfort. My 4 year old laughs out loud while listening; it’s been a pleasure to have him request a ‘Dave story’ and listen while playing play dough. Thank you!!

Thank you, Jess Milton! What a great job you’ve done with this podcast. Stuart would be so proud of you!

I love this rebroadcast of the wonderful Vinyl Cafe stories by Stuart McLean. But I took one star off for the incredibly annoying ramblings, often personal, of the host. The Vinyl Cafe stories stand well, very well, on their own. Let them.

Love the stories themselves and the stories behind the stories. What a great way to pay homage to the late, great, Stuart McLean

Great to hear some of these old episodes again. I don’t know if the additional commentary is really an enhancement though. Would love to just hear the episodes themselves.

Hi Jess! I’m so happy you have brought a form of the show back to life. I’ve loved The Vinyl Cafe since its inception and saw one live show in Kingston many years ago. I have been a fan of the Vinyl Cafe for a long time now . I was a regular listener in the radio and have read all the books. The storytelling combined with the gentle good humour and kindness are what attracted me to the show. Part of what I like about this podcast is Jess Milton's anecdotes...Read full review »

Grew up hearing the vinyl cafe in my parents car on Sunday afternoons. When I grew up and left home, hearing Stuart’s kind voice and lilting delivery always made me feel like I was home. We really miss him. Thanks Jess and Greg for bringing it back, and letting us hear our friend Stuart once again.

After seeing Stuart live years and years ago, it is such a breath of fresh air to hear his voice again. His animation and energy when he performs is just amazing. The podcast transports me right into the stories and did such a short while I am somewhere else. So glad this podcast exists.

Took my mom to see Stewart live in Barrie at Georgian college. It was a recorded show, the defibrillator one. It will be a memory that will stick with me of me and my mom forever.
