Repetitive coverage
I was super excited for this podcast to return and loved the proposed format of following the trial as well as expanding on some of prior reporting / content from the book. I really liked Emily’s coverage and impressions, but felt really turned off listening to John. He was quite self-aggrandizing and arrogant often framing his questions to Emily to agree with him or pointing out parts of the trial where he was mentioned. The podcast was a bit too focused on his ego and less on new information/ interesting perspectives. I appreciated that they followed along for the trial and listened each week regardless because I wanted to hear the coverage, but wasn’t as impressed as I hoped.
