“I’ve been a long time fan of this show and both host’s comedy. However like many other great comedy podcasts, advertising dollars are no longer enough, and the content is being transitioned over to Patreon to make as much as possible off the fan base they built with free content. It’s not as bad as Stavvy’s World just yet, where every episode you actually want to listen to is behind a paywall…but seems to be heading in that direction.
Take a note from the musician Pretty Lights’ success…the content stays free, you make more money from touring/merch/ads and a loyal fan base. BTS I’d assume Bobby is too lazy to tour and is afraid he can’t sell tickets on the road, so this is an attempt to cash in like a touring comedian/podcaster without putting in the same work.”
