THE SPECTATOR VS THE PLAYER | Mindset Mastery w/ AZ Araujo
Being a player in any game requires work. It can be difficult and often leaves us exhausted, but those types of sacrifices are necessary to put us in a better position. You must remind yourself that the small deposits you make on a daily basis will always put you in a position where you can become a player and stay that player.
There are many indicators in our lives that determine what kind of person we are—The Spectator, The Benchwarmer, or The Player.
THE SPECTATOR:
The Spectator is initially very enthusiastic. They sign up for challenges with fervor but falter when it's time to act.
Rather than taking ownership, The Spectator attributes their inaction to external factors like busy schedules, appointments, or family commitments, evading responsibility. This cycle perpetuates as they remain oblivious to missed opportunities for growth, fixating on excuses instead of engagement.
THE BENCHWARMER:
The Benchwarmer gets in the game from time to time and shows they can play with the elite. They display glimpses of excellence, but struggle to maintain momentum.
Despite their promising initial efforts, The Benchwarmer ends up retreating to the sidelines, plagued by self-doubt and over complication. Though they acknowledge their shortcomings, they dwell on past failures, hindering their progress.
Their journey begins with promise but wanes as challenges intensify, leading to a cycle of self-loathing and stagnation.
THE PLAYER:
When the Player says they're going to do something, they get it done. Their word is gold.
The Player approaches each challenge as an opportunity for growth. They meet the challenge with diligence and accountability. The Player understand all the tasks, generate leads, market every day, follow up, make phone calls, and just do the work. They do whatever it takes to complete the task at hand. They are committed and they execute.
QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:
Which role do you currently identify with: spectator, bench warmer, or player?
What strategies can you implement to maintain consistency and commitment?
What motivates you to excel and perform at your best in your endeavors?
NOTABLE QUOTES:
"There's no reason to over-complicate the process."

I start with something a little unexpected: these big, goofy glasses. They’re not just for show—I recently made a major decision to get eye surgery. Not LASIK, but something bigger. This choice wasn’t about looks or...
