We’re joined by the lovely Dan Beasley-Harling - who is just as sassy IRL as he seems on the show. Welcome to episode nine of #BakeOffUndressed with Topless Baker - aka Matt Adlard! We’re recapping last nights #GBBO bakes and dramas. This week was Patisserie Week and it was full of emotions - for both Matt and the contestants. There were tears, cries of WTF and frustrations all over. We had Izy Hossack on the couch today - she wrote her first cookbook at 18 years old (Top with Cinnamon) while studying for her A levels in chemistry, maths and biology. No biggie. Welcome to episode seven of #BakeOffUndressed with Topless Baker - aka Matt Adlard! We’re recapping last nights #GBBO bakes and dramas. This week was the history making Vegan Week, a GBBO first! We had mixed feelings - could this have been done earlier in the series? Did they make the Vegan challenges too challenging? Chickpea juice is called Aquafaba?? Lucky we had friend of the pod (and resident vegan) Sarah Austin as our guest this week to help us better understand how to bake like a vegan.
Sarah is the founder and chief baker at London sweet pie company Three.OneFour (or Pi - geddit?). She creates a mixture of vegan and non-vegan sweet pies and even as a non-vegan you’ll love them all. She knows vegan baking techniques and was super helpful to have in the room to navigate uncharted vegan waters!

We had cardamon, we had cinnamon, we had ginger(mon) and we had Paul Hollywood shakes a plenty. Seriously, what is the value of a Hollywood handshake these days?
Our guest this week is Scott Bryan, Buzzfeed TV editor, unofficial / official Bake Off correspondent and the most knowledgeable Great British Bake Off fan we’ve ever met. Once he finished making memes we talked techniques, recreating showstoppers in your own kitchen, everyone’s favourite baker Rahul and had a Buzzfeed inspired quick fire round - Bae or Bay?
A double elimination left us rattled, a sad end as we said goodbye to a couple of favourites. But onwards and upwards to pastry week!
