After the murder of Adrian Donohoe, the main suspect Aaron Brady boarded a one-way flight to America. He had no intention of ever returning to Ireland. What goes in to catching a garda killer?
In January 2013, Detectives Joe Ryan and Adrian Donohoe from Dundalk garda station were tasked with escorting credit union takings across Cooley Peninsula, on the border with Northern Ireland. The men were ambushed and Garda detective Donohoe was shot dead. Sunningdale and the Ulster Workers Strike (Part Three): Who really won?

Loyalism stood triumphant. The Ulster Workers Strike succeeded. It brought down the Sunningdale executive, the council of Ireland binned, power-sharing shelved . It seemed like total victory. But was it?
In the final part of a three-part series, Ciarán Dunbar looks at the long-term legacy of Sunningdale Agreement and the Ulster Workers Strike – and asks, who really won?

East Belfast Exile ,

Worth a listen but cannot seem to shake inherent bias

Problematic podcast with the main presenters exhibiting significant bias. Any journalist that chooses to not use factual information and instead introduce opinion as fact is never going to be able to report objectively on Northern Ireland matters. Inherent to the reporting Allison Morris offers up is a tolerance for the actions of the Provisonal IRA. Some might say admiration but I’ll not go that far. When a reporter uses the terms like “occupying Crown forces” or “the north” it sets a tone, it reveals a bias and reduces credibility of the subsequent information shared……I’ve switched off early because of it. Please just use facts. Objectivity is a critical prerequisite for reporters. While every effort is made to ensure the mask does not slip and to appear objective, sadly the Bel Tel’s crime reporter is not there. Like many in Northern Ireland, claiming objectivity is a lot easier than actually demonstrating the behavior.
