For the beginner to the expert — Great podcast
This is a great podcast. It can be hard for a non-expert, dabbling historian (like me) to read all of the books, articles, blogs, etc. on the history of the US. The specifics can be ever so important, but figuring out how they piece together when one has not been in graduate school for many years and written one’s own books can be hard. Dr. Covart is doing great work bringing these issues to the podcast world. I have not yet listened to every episode, but I am looking forward to getting caught up. And, I imagine, I will be adding to my amateur’s bookshelf as well. If I was to change one thing, I might suggest that better use of technology when the interviewees are at a distance. It can be difficult to hear what people are saying when they are on, presumably, a cell phone. That and possibly changing the music behind the “counterfactual” moment. But these are quibbles! A podcast well worth listening to.
