What Is An Entrepreneur

Description
What Is An Entrepreneur Have you ever wondered what is an entrepreneur? I host a few podcast shows focused on entrepreneurship and I get asked this question often... Let's look at what the dictionary says.... * Merriam-Webster: “one who organizes, manages and assumes the risks of a business or enterprise.” * Dictionary.com: “a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk.” (Reference - https://www.forbes.com/sites/brettnelson/2012/06/05/the-real-definition-of-entrepreneur-and-why-it-matters/#33dd1ccd4456) That really didn't answer the question to me. Let's turn to see what Seth Godin says about it.... In his article, "The four elements of entrepreneurship" Seth gives us 4 actions or behaviors that help define what an entrepreneur is.  Check out the article by clicking on the hyperlink to see all 4. I think he does a great job at defining what an entrepreneur is. Sometimes the best way to define something is to say what it is not. This is where I got hung up and probably set back in my evolution and progress as a successful entrepreneur. "Entrepreneur is NOT a Title" I just recently had my thinking evolve when I discovered that an entrepreneur is NOT a title but a spirit, a way of thinking, and a method of taking action.  I have an entrepreneurial spirit that drives me to create, take risks, accomplish, and constantly grow.  It does not restrict me or anyone else to having to be a CEO or Founder.  That was my biggest AH HA! I can be an entrepreneur and focus my superhuman powers of selling, building audiences, creating authority, and influence into another startup or small business as part of a team.  I (and we the entrepreneur) have the freedom to be us and leverage our strengths in many different ways and vehicles.  We are not limited by title but by our creativity. What about you?  What do you think an entrepreneur is?  Or isn't? Share your thoughts in the comments, I would love to hear your thoughts.
