A tale of two podcasts
First of all, I think it’s wrong Manhunt: Finding Kevin Parle was tagged on to Beyond Reasonable Doubt. I appreciate that’s an easy way to gain an audience but it’s also disingenuous and perhaps something you might do if you didn’t think your podcast was good enough to capture an audience otherwise. As it turns out, Manhunt: Finding Kevin Parle indeed isn’t very good. The premise is, but the story is unnecessarily dragged out into an over-long series with so many side stories added, and the lines between factual storytelling and what appear to be dramatisations are so blurred, I honestly don’t know what is what anymore and, to be honest, I stopped caring... I lost the central thread (if there even was one) fairly early on, got bored and tuned out. You lost me. Beyond Reasonable Doubt is a different kettle of fish altogether, so much so the podcast feed should never have been rebranded to Manhunt; I can’t reiterate that enough. Clearly Chris Warburton is an accomplished broadcaster, but I think he picked the wrong story to sink his teeth into: it’s such a well-worn path already (just look at pretty much every other reviewer comparing it to The Staircase) there wasn’t anything new or special to uncover... so he goes over old ground and only changes things up by picking the other side: where The Staircase clearly picked sides with Michael Peterson, Warburton attempts to pick the opposite side. In the end, all that this does – for me, anyway – is make everything and everyone involved appear awful and deeply unpleasant, and as a result I find myself disliking everyone who gets to speak on this podcast; regardless of which/whose side they claim to be on, I just want all of them to shut up and go away... Beyond Reasonable Doubt isn’t bad – on the contrary! – it’s just that everyone on it is... sorry...

More reviews of Manhunt: Finding Kevin Parle
Confusing to listen to. Lots of jumping around and slow to bring up basic facts. Gave up and looked up case in Wikipedia

I hope I am missing something, as the episodes are only 15 minutes long?! Are these leading into some really deep and longer episodes? Because so far I am so underwhelmed and disappointed and only the surface appears to be scratched? I hope I am wrong and this drastically improves.

Could have just done it all in 2 episodes rather then 15 minute episodes. Just trying jump on bandwagon on other podcasts
