I’ll always love this podcast
If you are someone like me who is obsessed with weird, eclectic and wonderful characters and stories from Hisotry this podcast is perfect. New Zealand especially seems to accumulate these kinds of stories and this podcast makes me even a bit proud to be from Aoetearoa. New Zealand history is not nearly taught in enough detail in schools I feel so this is a super important resource, as well as never failing to be entertaining. Also worth mentioning is the maturity a lot of the subjects are dealt with, it’s very graceful with paying its respects and mentioning when something may not be entirely true. It avoids sensationalism pretty deftly while still being fun. Episodes like the history of statues in New Zealand are really important and I’m glad they don’t shy away from modern times despite being a history podcast. These things are linked after all. Of course William Ray is a great host too, so thanks for making this podcast a treat to listen to! :)
