For the first time in more than a decade, the Tennessee Titans did not execute a single trade during the NFL Draft. General manager Ran Carthon and his staff selected seven players (five on defense) with the exact seven picks he had at the start of the process. A look at what they got and whether they could have (or should have) done more.

The Tennessee Titans used their first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft (seventh overall) to select JC Latham, a two-year starter at right tackle for Alabama. The Titans believe that the 6-foot-6, 360-pound Latham can easily transition to left tackle, where he will fill their biggest pre-draft need and play alongside last year's first-round pick, left guard Peter Skoronski.

The NFL Draft is a week away, and it seems obvious to most who the Tennessee Titans will pick with the No. 7 overall selection, assuming (of course) that he is available. One former NFL executive is not among "most," however, and predicts that general manager Ran Carthon and his staff will do something different with their first choice.

The Tennessee Titans have started their offseason program, the early voluntary meetings and training sessions that will lay the foundation for what is to come in the regular season. Because they have a new head coach, Brian Callahan, they get to start the process earlier than most other franchises, and Callahan has his first opportunity to provide the players with his vision of how the team with operate.

Newly acquired cornerback L'Jarius Sneed made a good first impression with the Nashville media with his confidence -- not to be mistaken for arrogance -- and a good sense of how he fits in and what he can do for Tennessee's defense. A subsequent deal by one of the Titans' division rivals, it seems that Sneed's arrival could not have been better-timed.

The Tennessee Titans had more money to spend than most when the NFL's 2024 league year opened earlier this month, and general manager Ran Carthon has found way to do just that. His last move was a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs for cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, which included a four-year, $76.4 million contract extension for Sneed.
