“Look. Usually I only leave positive reviews and I *want* to love this podcast. But there are some things I really need to say.
Disclaimer: I only listened to episode 1.
First of all, the hosts seem like two nice people who have a lot of love for danmei, which I very much appreciate. I am always happy to see people in fandom being excited and I hope they will continue podcasting in the future. Obviously they have both read the book and know it inside and out, so it only pains my heart more that I need to leave a not-so-great review.
There are some small problems that irk me (the name of the novel is misspelled in the description, they call the main characters by the wrong name sometimes, the pronunciation of pinyin terms is questionable) but I could overlook that.
What I can’t overlook is that they spoil things from the very end of the novel in an episode about chapter 1-3. If this is a spoiler heavy show then say so at the very beginning!!! At least put it in the podcast description, something!!! I am… sad.”
