I always enjoy listening to this show. The characters are well-developed, the plot of each season is always gripping, and the writing in general is very well done. I really enjoy how each season is somewhat based upon different characters and plots of various H.P. Lovecraft stories. This show...Read full review »

Good story with too many sound effects, for far too long, in almost every episode. The exact same story could’ve been told without overdoing it so horribly. If there is a dramatic bit or a sound effect, it’s overdone.

Compelling narrative; well developed characters; and superb audio production Thanks Mike and team!

I was trying to find a podcast I actually listening enjoyed to, and thought I’d give this a try. Been reading Lovecraft for many years, and thoroughly enjoyed the influence in this podcast. Writing is awesome, just like the acting. Liking forward to many more!

The story is interesting, most of the cast are very competent, but whoever plays Alvarez seems to think stereotypical pompous upper class voice is synonymous with educated professor. It just sounds really obnoxious. If it weren’t for that, it’d be one of the best lovecraftian podcasts.

This is between a 3 and a 4, giving it a 4 as it is a good effort. However the voice acting is not great, and can take away from the believability of the story. Some voicing seems too young to be believable with some amateur pronunciation errors. Loads of dialogue jammed with story element that...Read full review »

A great mystery from opening scene until the great deep ending. Thanks to their sound effects pack, this story comes well equipped to take you through a story of a man loose his grips with reality in his search for answers in the occult.

Having listened to a few episodes, this is a great little radio play - similar to D.A.R.T. By the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society. It’s perfect comfy listening on a dark evening whilst working or gaming with a few drinks.

Story had lots of potential but the voices are wooden and a bit silly sounding, particularly the university professor. He sounds like a mix of Hannibal Lecter, Bane from Batman and a constipated English gentleman

I listened to seasons one and two in less than a week! After listening, I made sure to check the dark corners of my room before bed. Great job BHH! I can’t wait for more!

while waiting for next 3rd season, any season! with no end in sight of the lockdown, i am ready to start over to listen to first podcast because i enjoy the story so much! The cast voices are prefect. Want more on the sea and the lighthouse. Or underwater finds. Actually anything you...Read full review »

But the sound effects are a bit loud and distracting.

There’s something not quite flowing well. Noticing the breaks from when one person speaks to the next is very distracting. It is just not flowing well. Production and editing need to join hands and come together.

What a great podcast this is - I am very much enjoying it and the characters - it reminds me a little of the TinTin adventures. Much better than a lot of more widely known podcast dramas and I am looking forward to more.

This podcast is spooky and fun. Very good story telling. I got sucked in and didn’t even realize I had worked my way through 3 episodes.

Really happy to have discovered this gem. Though the acting is occasionally rocky, and the sound quality variable, the writing more than makes up for it. There’s a wealth of detail here that really makes the story live, and the mystery is gradually unveiled layer by layer in true Lovecraftian...Read full review »

Thank you so so much for making it easier to listen to all your podcasts, during this very grim time of human history. 🌹

Great podcast! However, mispronouncing well known areas around New England/Boston definitely kills some of the charm. ☹️

The voices on the phone! We can barely understand the people on the other side of the telephone!!!! Stop trying to imitate telephone band-pass.

I've got a lot of sentimentality for this podcast, and honestly its such an accurate depiction of what New England is like, I thought everyone knew about the underwater cities but I must be wrong. In all seriousness though this is a fun and intriguing podcast and I love it so much.Read full review »

This is a hard review for me to write because I think the story is great. We don’t get many Lovecraft podcast stories and this is a good one but the voice acting kills it for me and takes me out of the story to consistently. Once it starts happening I have to listen to something else for awhile...Read full review »

Local flavor, crime procedural, sci-fi, horror -- all mixed together and this is what you get. Really enjoyed the first half of Season 1 and can't wait to see what happens next!Read full review »

The audio production & sound design on this is just awful. It’s very amateur. The dialogue in cringe inducing, the voice acting is flat and wooden. Overall just an unpleasant experience.
DJ Mike Zero via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/10/19
Meh
Despite the recent quality of the audio production (some moments I definitely had to turn my speaker down for), the show failed to live up to my expectations as a writer and a coast-guardsmen. Some of the acting is a bit canned, but that mostly stems from the writing. There is very little to grab...Read full review »

I am looking forward to the continuation of Boston Harbor Horror. Enjoyable repartee, intriguing plot, local references, historical background and Coast Guard lingo provide multiple points of interest for the listener.
Native Bostonian via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/29/19
The feeling of creeping dread that BHH is able to create has kept me riveted from the first episode. The realistic details of coast guard life keep the more fantastic elements grounded and enhance the storytelling. Sound design is also very well done!

It as alright. I listen to quite a few podcasts everyday. I started listening to this on a friends recommendation. I think it has potential to get better. I hope it does.
