“Greg and Kristianne are twoUS-based friends who have had a bookclub for years, and when David Bowie died they decided to make a podcast doing monthly episode talking about one of the books on his eclectic selection of 100 favourite books. The books themselves are often odd and surprising. Greg and Kristianne spend about half the podcast discussing the book itself, and about a third trying to work out why David Bowie might have liked it so much, and the rest generally larking about. They approach this task as two people who obviously love books and reading and David Bowie, but they are fans, not scholars. This podcast is focussed on enjoyment, not in depth analysis or insider information about DB's life. They don't always like the books they discuss, which is refreshing, and they don't pretend to taking the high critical line - though I always find what they have to say enlightening. I have to say the continuing appeal of the podcast to me is to do with what an engaging duo they are to listen to.They are just people you'd like to hang out and talk books with. They can say serious things, without taking themselves too seriously. Go Greg! Go Kristianne!”
