Awkward Money Conversations:
Aging Parents and Finances
Episode 170
In today’s episode, I speak with Rabbi Jeffrey Wildstein of KAVOD Daily Money Management about the awkward conversations many adult children have with their aging parents about finances. We discuss the signs that a parent may need help with daily money tasks and how to approach this conversation when the time comes. Jeffrey offers insights into common roadblocks for aging parents and adult children and how to overcome them.
Rabbi Jeffrey Wildstein has spent his professional life assisting all kinds of people in a wide variety of situations. He served as a congregational rabbi for fourteen years where he was intensively involved with the financial aspects of program management and counseled hundreds of people with care, compassion, and respect. Jeffrey has practiced law, been a colleague administrator, worked as a field organizer for a political campaign, and authored one book on Judaism and co-authored another on Connecticut Tort Law. When his father died, he helped his mother with her finances and discovered his passion for helping others manage their financial lives.
