Good show. Thorough. Sexism problem with the Sunday critics
The main hosts do a great job daily collecting and reporting on what’s what and happening on Broadway. Really appreciate that. The Sunday episodes feature Peter Filichia and James Marino who exercise frequent casual sexism. Example: 4/21/2019 episode James Marino speaking of Fosse/Verdon refers to Gwen Verdon’s first husband as “aggressively trying to have sex with her.” It’s a rape. And rape of an underaged girl. Listening to the two speak about the York Theatre Mufti presentation of Lolita My Love was really problematic. No appreciation for the female director who did a staggeringly profound effort to put Lolita at the center of Show and not letting the audience get charmed by Humbert Humbert. One of them said it would’ve been better if the actor playing him was more good looking charming. This is a musical about a deranged man who preys on a child. So better to stick with the daily episodes and skip the Sunday shows.
