Ultimately unsatisfying
Although I enjoyed this podcast and am glad it was made - it’s important to remember the Hart children and speak publicly about what happened to them if it helps people to recognise and prevent abuse in future - I found it ultimately unsatisfying because the reporters didn’t seem able to fully excavate what happened in the family and what Jen and Sarah’s motivations might have been. Perhaps that’s because it’s impossible to get to the truth? If so, my review is unfair. But I found myself wishing Sarah Koenig was leading the investigation because it felt like stones had been left unturned that wouldn’t be if this was a season of Serial.
