Manipulative guilt-tripping is not journalism
Shocked at how Jesse Thorn conducted himself in the interview with Robert Webb and David Mitchell. Two exceptionally talented comedy writers and he wastes their time with an emotionally manipulative rant violating his own children’s privacy in order to effectively “cancel” Webb. Shamelessly relying on defamation and bullying tactics in order to promote your underachieving podcast is pretty damn low. If Thorn were British maybe he’d understand that Mermaids is a highly controversial organisation that has long been criticised for advocating dangerous and experimental drugs for kids as young as 3, and which is largely staffed by people who aren’t medical professionals. Webb’s views aren’t those of some peripheral bigot; they’re shared by the vast majority of Britons and they’re grounded in fact.
