Toyota Stumbles: Suprima Chassis and the importance of communication
Toyota encountered one of the most challenging problems in the late 2004. ChassisCo plant in Athens was responsible for the production of rear suspension cradles, an important part of the vehicle, of Toyota Suprima crossover. Following the success of the first generation of this model and Responsa program, Toyota decided to enlarge the scale of production and improve the quality of this model, which required much more complex structure of the rear suspension cradles. ChassisCo took up the entire responsibility for this mission, including logistics, project management as well as inventory management, although they had not enough capacity in these sectors.
