Compton isn’t black anymore
I am a refugee from my home city of Los Angeles as well as California and was born very close to where the stories in Compton takes place. Unfortunately what was once a open black community is long gone. It’s primarily Latino now along with most of the county’s gateway cities from which I am from. The Los Angeles black identity has been mostly washed away. This isn’t addressed and glossed over so hence 1 star

I can honestly say that I’ve never heard anything like this show and I mean that in a good way. It’s both deeply personal and so well done that even if you can’t relate, you want to listen. I can wait for a new episode each week.

Really enjoyed the first episode. These are the kinds of stories and interviews we need. The subject matter is simple, but layered. Excited to hear the next one! 💞 Thank you for this gem Walter.
